2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 vs Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat: Which Muscle Car Reigns Supreme?

Last year, the Chevrolet Camaro reigned supreme over the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. This year, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was equipped with the Hennessey HPE750 package as it went against the 2017 Dodge Challenger Hellcat once again. Which muscle car reigned supreme this time around?

Both vehicles started off with a rumble, started the race in second gear up to the fourth. After two passes, the results showed that the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, once again, claimed victory over the 2017 Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

As reported by GM Authority, it was no surprise that the Bumblebee signature muscle car had the greater advantage with respect to the vehicles' power-to-weight ratio. This feature improved the handling and swerve off the vehicle while on the run, as the Hellcat was heavier and took more time to turn. Therefore, the race was not a fair fight as the Hellcat did not have help from Hennessey.

In other news, Auto Evolution reported that although the Hellcat's scale footprint was better than that of the ZL1, the tuner specifications contributed by the Hennessey upgrade made it incapable of beating the Camaro off the tracks. In fact, the 850hp Hellcat may have a chance at a rematch due to the other car's advantage.

Muscle cars today have lost their touch compared to how famous they were since the Ford Mustang released. In fact, most of the traditional American muscles have disappeared or improved into complex machines. Some even manifested that the current 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is the only muscle car on sale as the others have deviated from their original make and model. Was the race, then, a race between a highly-improved Camaro against a true-to-life muscle car?

At present, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat run past the 700hp mark. If both cars stuck to their original glorified machines, will the Hellcat reign supreme? Has the Camaro transformed into a modern car instead as an American muscle classic?
