Battle of the Compact Cars: 2019 Ford Focus vs 2017 Mazda 3

The 2019 Ford Focus and 2017 Mazda 3 are topping the compact cars category. Mixed reviews from car enthusiast greeted the 2017 Mazda 3 recently. It was considered to be ahead of its class. Although not a lot has changed, its performance got better compared from its descendants.

 In another story, motor spies had taken a glimpsed of the 2019 Ford Focus. After disappointing models from 2005 - 2012, Ford hit the jackpot in 2012. It is said that the 2019 model was built to continue with that success.

2019 Ford Focus. Ford was recently photographed testing its 2019 model somewhere in Europe. The car is rumored to be for the American market. According to Car and Driver, the car company is not expected to change the design completely from scratch. The current expectation is it would improve on its current model.

The new car would be lesser by weight, more maneuverable and would comply with the world auto safety standards. Current models offer two engines to choose from. One with a 160 HP 2.0-liter engine. The 2nd option is the 123 HP 1.0-liter cylinder engine. Both engines are expected to be put under the hood in the new model. It is also expected that it will get the 6-speed manual transmission.

2017 Mazda 3. The 2017 Mazda 3 remains a dream family car as it was designed to be. Cars Guide reports that the Mazda 3 has an 114 KW/200 NM 1.998 liter engine under its hood. It has a 6-speed automatic transmission for easy gear shifting.

It can comfortably seat 5 people even on long drives. It is reported to be very fuel efficient consuming only 5.8 liters for every 100 km of traveling distance. The Mazda 3 scored very high on its safety features. It scored even better than most other brands. Crash prevention system topped its safety features.

Also, one of the features that 2017 Mazda 3 is proud of is the SkyActiv-Vehicle Dynamic. With this new technology, users are assured of a powerful engine output and fuel efficiency.
