Winter Recess Freebies: Updated Xbox and PS4 Online Access Giveaways

When it's free, it is super good! Starting today, due to the winter recess vacation, Xbox and PS4 users can now access online games without Gold or Plus subscription respectively. Microsoft and Sony given the list of games each and everyone can utilize between February 16-19 for Xbox users, while February 17-23 for PS4 consoles.

For Xbox users, during the four-day span, online multiplayer games are unlocked on consoles such as Xbox 360, and Xbox One. In this event, users that have no Xbox Live Gold subscription are allowed to download and play the most popular games for free. Xbox games that are up for grab are NBA 2K17 and Rocket League. It is the perfect time to play NBA 2K17 since it is the All-Star Weekend for NBA.

Other game titles such as Project Cars, and The Force Unleashed are also up for grab. Project Cars will be available today up untile March 15, while The Force Unleashed, a backward compatible game will be available until February 28.

To further celebrate this event, Microsoft set up two events for all fans to see and experience. Game player, Stallion83 who holds the highest game score in the world will be in attendance. On February 17, players can join Stallion83 in an NBA All-Star match.

Meanwhile, Sony does not want to be left out of the competition. The company also utilize the winter recess break and by setting the whole seven days promotion for free titles to play. Without the PlayStation Plus subscriptions, users can play online games. But, during this whole seven days span, Sony will not offer free full game trials, unlike Microsoft.

"All you need to do is get comfy, pick out your favorite games from your collection, pop them in your PS4 and you'll find all the online modes unlocked and ready to play," according to Sony.
