2017 Honda CR-V is performing well on the road and in the market. The fast growing demand for the crossover has led Honda to expand its production in U.S.
Honda has reportedly dedicated an additional plant to produce more CR-Vs. The model has begun production in Greensburg, Indiana this week.

This is the first time that the Honda's Indiana plant will manufacture an SUV. The said facility can produce 250,000 vehicles and manufactures the other models like Acura ILX, Civic Sedan and Civic Natural Gas.
The automaker has previously announced its intent to invest $52 million to proceed CR-V production in its Indiana plant. Now, the automaker has turned its promise into a reality and the beloved crossover has entered the production line this week.
Aside from the Indiana plant, the Honda CR-V units are also being produced in other facilities. Honda has started the mass production of the 2017 Honda CR-V in its East Liberty plant in Ohio. Honda's facility in Ontario, Canada also manufactures the model, Motortrend reported.
In another report, Bob Nelson, President and CEO of Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, shared how elated they are to be rewarded with the chance to produce the popular CR-V. Bob Nelson emphasized how the expansion became a big vote of confidence for their team as it gives them the opportunity to prove their flexibility and skills.
Moreover, model leader for the CR-V, Tom Hilfinger has shared the benefit of the expansion to Greensburg. According to Tom Hillfinger, it is a great honor for them to be given the chance to produce in Greensburg two of the automaker's top-selling models in one facility, which confirms their flexibility too.
Troy Niemer, the new model manufacturing leader, also vouched for Tom Hilfinger's statements. In addition, Troy Niemier detailed that they are committed to make Greensburg a great community by continuously growing their plant, which has started from a small plant to now employing 2,400 employees, Greensburg Daily News has noted.
Meanwhile, the 2017 Honda CR-V was recently awarded the "2017 Best Cars for the Money" award from U.S. News & World Report. This recognition and its expanding manufacturing facilities are proofs that this crossover from Honda is indeed a hot selling car of 2017, Honda News has cited.
