While it wouldn't solve all of Apple's troubles, a new 128GB iPad is reportedly in the works to help ease the blow the company has experienced lately.

Apple designers have been asked to construct the first iOS device hold more than 64GB of storage according to a report by BGR News. The new fourth-generation iPad SKU will reportedly hit shelves within the next couple of weeks or months according to a report by 9to5Mac.

All of the details haven't been released yet, but according to the report by 9to5Mac, the new model will feature 128GB of internal memory, adding a fourth storage option to Apple's already full-size iPad devices.

The 128GB device will also feature cellular connectivity and WiFi options according to the report.

The report also suggests that the iPad will cost approximately $799 for the Wi-Fi only option and $929 for the Wi-Fi, cellular connectivity option.

The company seems like they're going to try everything they can to turn things around, as Apple's stock has plummeted 12 percent since it peaked at over $700 per share this past September. Due to its decline, Apple lost its honor as the world's most valuable company last week as well according to Yahoo.

Many feel that the company has lost its touch since the death of Steve Jobs. A biopic on Jobs is set to be released this coming April, right around the same time the company is set to celebrate their 37th anniversary according to ABC News.

Not everyone is so convinced that the rumors are true however.

"I have little doubt that a 128GB iPad is indeed in the pipeline, but that it will be a new model - perhaps the iPad 5- and that its debut will be concurrent with the elimination of the 16GB model," said Adrian Kingsley-Hughes, a writer for ZDNet. "This would allow Apple to retail the existing pricing structure for the iPads, with the 128GB model costing $699 for the Wi-Fi model, and $829 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model."
