A Porsche dealer in Australia has inadvertently leaked the existence of one of motoring community's most sought after car, the Porsche Cayman GT4 RS. Another astonishing fact revealed by the dealer is that the car will feature a 4.0-liter flat six engine, an upgrade from the 3.8-liter which is standard in the Cayman GT4 model.

The leak was posted on the Instagram account of Porsche Centre Brisbane, according to Auto Blog. The post was immediately removed, but not before Porsche aficionados have started sharing it on various motoring blogs and forums.

Based on a screen capture shared by Car Advice, the exact post reads, "Attention GT aficionados. Due to high demand, a GT4 RS is on its way - with more power and a 4.0L flat-six engine, this limited model will turn heads."

When asked whether the post holds any truth, a Porsche spokesperson denied that the Cayman GT4 RS is in the works. The spokesperson added that admitting such story could deter the sales of current Porsche cars.

When Porsche debuted the original Cayman GT4 at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the company's head of Motorsports division Andreas Preuninger hinted that they might work on a lighter and faster Cayman GT4 that will bear the RS branding.

The leak has started several speculations about the GT4 RS. The current GT4 engine has 385 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission. By using a larger and more powerful 4.0-liter engine and couple it with various weight-reducing upgrades, Porsche is going back to its traditional philosophy of creating track cars that are road legal.

If the GT4 RS is indeed real, Porsche will most likely make upgrades on other aspects of the car. The GT4 RS is also expected to be produced in limited quantity only. Despite the fact that Porsche has denied the existence of the GT4 RS, many enthusiasts and analysts are expecting the car to debut at this year's Geneva Motor Show in March.
