Pokemon Go Receives Most Requested Update: The Pros And Cons

Apparently, Pokemon Go has become the cultural phenomena in 2016. Eventhough faced by many ups and downs, the game stayed on top in the mobile gaming industry up until today. The need for contents which made Pokemon games so iconic has been a never ending debate in the entire Pokemon Go ecosystem. Today, Niantic CEO John Hanke discussed the what and what not to expect in the upcoming update.

It took Niantic a total of 8 months to finally say that the most awaited features for Pokemon Go are coming soon. Now, everyone can expect PVP mode, Pokemon Trading, and Gen 2 Pokemon in the near future. But, fans should also say goodbye to the beloved Tracker that has played an integral part in catching wild Pokemon.

Hanke enumerated the reasons why these updates took a long time to come. He said that the delay in implementing these features are caused by the massive server issues the company experienced after launching the game. Instead of focusing on delivering fresh new contents, Niantic focused on getting the server issues under control.

About the Tracker's removal, Hanke said that making the world richer and adding more interactive ways is the more interesting thing. "It has far surpassed our expectations in just turning everybody onto the potential for games that break out of the screen. But the priority for 'Pokémon GO' now is to build on those things that reward co-operative gameplay, and make experiences available that offer more depth than just the capturing mechanic," Hanke statement via Starz post.

The upcoming update for Pokemon Go will bring life back to the game. For those who played Pokemon Go in its early stages was an extremely bare bones experience. With the new update coming which aims to bring interaction with peers and Pokemon, 2017 will be Pokemon Go's year again.
