For the Cheapest Electric Vehicles, the list below takes the manufacturer’s suggested retail price, plus any mandatory destination and handling fees. The prices do not include local or federal tax incentives or rebates. Efficiency figures are rendered in Miles Per Gallon Equivalent, or MPGe, a measure of how far a car can travel electrically on the same amount of energy as contained in 1 gallon of gasoline.

According to  Autobytel, 2016 BMW i3 features the highest MSRP. It has a $42,400 price tag and comes with 170 horsepower. It is a 2 door, subcompact hatchback design, rear-wheel drive handling dynamics, and the ability to travel 80 miles on a single charge. It can be charged in a mere half an hour if the driver uses an approved DC fast-charger, while at 240 volts it takes up to four hours.

2016 Fiat 500e comes with a price tag of $31,800. It takes the popular style of the base 500 hatchback and it installs a more powerful electric motor. It has 111 horsepower and 147 lb-ft of torque. It has 87 miles of range before the driver needs to plug it into the wall. It takes for hours to be fully charged.

According to Green Car Reports, one of the Cheapest Electric Vehicles is the Ford Focus Electric. The 2017 model has a larger battery pack and boosts the range to a more competitive 115 miles. It has 33-5kWh battery and 107kW motor. It also has DC fast charging, using the Combined Charging Standard protocol. It comes with a price tag of $29,995.

Another on the lists of Cheapest Electric Vehicles is the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV comes with a price tag of $37,495. It is equipped with a 60kWh battery and has a 150kW motor. With its 238 mile range, it’s the only non-Tesla electric car currently on sale with a range more than 200 miles. 2017 Nissan Leaf is also one of the cheapest electric cars on the market. It received a larger 30-kWh battery pack, and that pack comes as standard equipment on all the models.

All Leaf Models mile ranged of cars equipped with also have a 107-mile range, compared to the 84- the previous 24-kWh battery pack. Nissan Leaf comes with a price tag of $31,545. There are more cars to be covered as they are expected to go on sale in the coming months.
