An image claiming to be that of the Samsung Galaxy S8 screen has recently hit the internet. The photos suggest that the flagship phone from the Korean tech giant will not have a banner of navigation buttons on display.

The released image of the Galaxy S8's screen also shows an absence of a home button supporting claims of a set of images showing unattached screens of the phone released previously. This further fuels speculations that the smartphone will instead feature a fingerprint scanner under the display.
The photo also shows an absence of on-screen navigation keys that have been present on previous Galaxy S devices. The phone on the image is unlike any other Android smartphone because there appears to be no banner at the bottom of the display which houses the navigation keys. The display runs all the way down close to the edge giving no room for navigational keys on that part of the device.
This could mean that the Korean tech giant has come up with a way to navigate around the operating system without navigation keys much like iPhone from competitor Apple. This could also simply mean that the company has found a way to hide the banner when not in use similar to when it disappears when viewing a photo or video. Given that there is has still been no official word from the company about the much speculated Galaxy S8, the image could also possibly be just a prototype hardware and software.
Speculated features of the Galaxy S8 include an iris scanner, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, and water-resistance and dust-resistance with an IP68 certification. The phone will additionally feature Bluetooth 5.0 and a 3,250 mAh battery. Samsung is expected to release the device as the first to carry Bixby, the company's virtual assistant.
