The North American International Auto Show opens today to the public, and Ford Motor Co. brought more than just new vehicle models with them. Recruiters on behalf of Ford will also be on hand to answer questions about U.S. salaried jobs available within the company.
Job recruiters will be available to answer questions at the Ford display during the show's public days starting on Jan. 19-27 according to a recently issued company press release.

Ford announced a few months ago that they were planning on hiring at least 2,200 new employees in 2013, the largest increase in new salaried workers in over 10 years. The plan is a "direct result" of Ford's aggressive new pace to create and ship out new products.
"In today's competitive job market, you have to do things differently and we think having a presence at the North American International Auto Show is an innovative and clever way to get the word out that we are hiring," said Laura Kurtz, recruiting manager, Ford Motor Company. "We see this as an opportunity to find great people in unexpected places."
Ford is also planning on using social media websites like Linkedin, Twitter, and Facebook to reach people who might be interested in a job with the company. They're also reportedly working on expanding their recruiting strategy to hire more military veterans looking for work.

Ford stated that recruiters will not accept resumes at the auto show, but will answer any questions about working within the company. They've also been trained to direct people interested in working with Ford to the company's corporate careers website to apply for specific jobs.
