The new 2017 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback is a driver’s car once again. It has plenty of space, excellent fuel economy, and a fixed base price. It puts up a hell of a fight in the hatchback category.

Forbes reported that all the hatchbacks are powered by the new 1.5-liter turbocharged and direct-injected four cylinder engine with either a six-speed manual of an automatic transmission. Three of the new model's LX, EX, and EX-L, have the same 174 horsepower and 167lb-ft of torque. But Honda Civic Sport Hatchback is tuned a little higher with six horsepower more and 10l-ft of torque.

2017 Honda Civic Sport also adds a few visual changes. It comes with underbody spoilers, 18-inch Alloy wheels, fog lights. It also gets a slightly quicker steering ratio.

Honda Civic Sport does not come with heated seats, sunroof or the touchscreen radio with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. It only has basic AM/FM/Satellite radio with a five-inch display.

The car is also lacking the Honda Sensing driver assist package, which is available on all other trim levels including the LX. 2017 Honda Civic Sport offers a decent cargo volume with 25.7-cubic available behind the rear seats and 46.2 cubic feet with the seats folded.

According to Cnet, 2017 Honda Civic Sport comes with automatic climate controls and steering wheel controls. It also has a brake-hold system which means the car holds its brakes at every stop. The Sport Touring model has touchscreen navigation, infotainment system, and Honda’s novel LaneWatch passenger side camera.

Honda Civic Sport Hatchback has close competitors like Chevrolet Cruze, Mazda3, Subaru Impreza and Volkswagen Golf. Honda Civic Sport Hatchback starts at $21,300. It is higher than some competitors, but according to its performance, Honda Civic Sport Hatchback blows them away. It has lowest fuel consumption out of all competitors in its category.
