Fire Emblem Heroes is Nintendo’s third game release for mobile devices. Their first release Super Mario Run did not go well despite having lots of positive qualities.

According to Forbes, Fire Emblem Heroes is a tactical, turn-based combat game where players try to control four characters to outflank opponents. While Super Mario Run had a high price and weird game model. However, Fire Emblem Heroes has a clear idea of what kind of game is going to be. Super Mario Run was torn between free to play game and premium game which cost was way high.

Despite the fact that Super Mario Run increased the demand and sales of Mario title games on Nintendo’s own platforms, the game tailed off quickly after launch. Fire Emblem Heroes is a free to play game and it is committed to it. It uses a stamina time gate to get a bit of money out of people, but as a free to play game it has to stay profitable. The game would not be dominating the Top 10 on App Store like Pokemon Go did, however, it is expected to be in a decent position, and then slowly retract down where it will say profitable.

Touch Arcade describes that launching this game has made Nintendo more savvy and cynical about the mobile gaming market. Instead of trying to change it, they are fully embracing the market. They see the game to be a success on the mobile market and it has a potential to be a huge earner over a long period of time. It is already making a decent amount of money in the Japanese App Store.

However, Social RPG games aren’t that popular in the West so the profits are a little smaller. The game is going to be updated frequently and it should have a longer lifespan than previous Nintendo releases. Overall, these are good news for Nintendo. They have finally made a game that fits the mobile market rather than trying to change it.
