The 2017 Mazda MAZDA3 is out which is somehow getting mixed reviews from car enthusiasts and critics alike. The sedan promises better features compared to its predecessor, however, some think that the updates are minuscule and not ground-breaking enough. Whatever it is, the sedan promises better performance enough to be considered by car buyers.

According to Motor Trend, the 2017 Mazda MAZDA3 has been rated 3.5 out of possible 5 points. The MAZDA3 is updating the compact sedan and hatchback with new and improved interior and exterior styling. The latest MAZDA3 also comes with a new engine and transmission programming. More importantly is its amped up and improved safety features.

The MAZDA 3 is the smallest sedan that Mazda offers. Don't let the size fool, though. Even if it is small, it is packed with features that can be compared side-to-side with its other more prominent competitors. It is slightly smaller than the MAZDA6 sedan which also offers both sedan and hatchback styles.

As part of its safety features, the latest Mazda sedan has blind spot monitoring system and a lane-keeping system. These enable the sedan to steer the car back to its original lane. The latest addition also i-ActivSense suite for driver aides which are optional. To solidify its position as being one of the safest sedans and hatchbacks in the market, both were given five-out-of-five star overall ratings by NHTSA.

The five stars were given because the 2017 Mazda MAZDA3 aced its front and side crashes. It was also given four stars for rollover crashes. This is certainly a highly considered factor when purchasing a new vehicle. It also has an improved automatic emergency braking system.

It also has an improved camera system which is highly capable of detecting pedestrians and enables the driver to see further ahead of the road. It can also recognize road signs and displays some information in the information cluster. The system, however, is optional.

As added by Car and Driver, the 2017 Mazda MAZDA3 is considered sharper, cleaner, and crisper. It has tweaked exterior and interior styling, updated active-safety features, and the addition of G-Vectoring Control system for better steering response.

The 2017 Mazda MAZDA3 may not easily be the choice of car buyers, but knowing what it can offer in terms of its safety features may change their minds. It may not ring a bell to most, but the safety features and other added updates are enough to make people talk giving it its much-needed publicity.
