Wagons are generally considered as non-high-performance vehicles. However, the latest 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon was created with impressive features despite it being a family-friendly choice for a vehicle. Before its release late this year, what are its specs?

The Specs. First of all, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon is powered by a 4.0L, twin-turbo V-8 engine that could generate 603hp and 628 lb.-ft. off torque. It could also be purchased with the nine-speed automatic transmission which is twice better than its predecessor. With an all-wheel drive system, it has a Drift Mode that allows the vehicle to maximize its powertrain and rear wheels to 100%, reported Motor Trend.

It has also been lodged as a super wagon, and not a mere wagon, for it has impressive acceleration speed that could reach 0-60 mph in just 3.4 secs. Its top speed has also been recorded to reach 180 mph. On top of which, it has also been installed with an adaptive air suspension and damping, six-piston brake calipers, 15.4in rotors on its rear wheels, and adaptive engine mounts. The model also has similar E-Class variants with its brothers in the franchise.

In other news, Road and Track reported that the nine-speed gearbox could operate without disturbance with a wet clutch in place which improved its engine power. In fact, that powertrain has been determined to be faster than the Corvette Grand Sport. On the other hand, its tech features were labeled semi-autonomous which is likewise similar to E-classes. Generally, the model was tagged as that type of vehicle which mashes Sport, Comfort, and Class.

Availability. The 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon would be available in the U.S. market this coming fall. It will also make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month before it would be made available for purchase.
