GTA 5 Online: Are Players Losing Interest in the Game and No Longer Excited for GTA 6?

It has been over three years since GTA 5 was first released but there has been no announcement for its sequel. Will there ever be a GTA 6 and will its fans continue to support the game after the latest GTA Online updates?

GTA 5 or Grand Theft Auto V is an open world action-adventure game by Rockstar Games. It was released in 2013 with no definite news about its sequel. NSEA Voice reports that many players have quit playing the game due to the introduction of Shark Cards. This feature allows players to trade real money for GTA Dollars as well as quick reputation gain.

Also known as Cash Cards, Shark Cards are a form of micro-transaction available in Grand Theft Auto Online. They are named after various sharks and offer different levels of in-game money. The GTA currency is balanced in order to still sustain players who do and do not purchase these cards since they are purely optional.

The cards available are Red Shark, Tiger Shark, Bull Shark, Great White Shark, Whale Shark, and Megalodon Shark. The Red Shark ($2.99) will give players GTA $100,000, the Tiger Shark ($4.99) will give players $200,000, while the Bull Shark ($9.99) will give players $500.000. The Great White Shark ($19.99) will give players $1,250,000, the Whale Shark ($49.99) will give players $3,500,000, while the Megalodon Shark ($99.99) will give players $8,000,000.

Additionally, Gaming Bolt has also reported that GTA 5 Online updates will slow down this year and will stop with the release of Red Dead Redemption 2. The game is expected to release in Fall of this year. This is because Rockstar Games now has fewer developers to work on GTA Online.

Elsewhere, the internet is filled with rumor after rumor of the GTA 5 sequel's release. There has been no official announcement from Rockstar Games but it has been reported that the game may be released as late as 2020. That's another three years of waiting!

There has also been some speculation that GTA 6 may prove to be too expensive to make for Rockstar Games. Neurogadget has previously reported that it cost Rockstar Games $265 million to develop Grand Theft Auto 5. Considering that Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to feature VR or AR support, the expected budget for the game has been estimated to be at least $300 million by the site. But as of the moment, there is no official word yet as Rockstar Games continues to keep silent about the matter.

GTA 5 is a great game and is a widely played game which is still being enjoyed by many players worldwide. Hopefully, players will not lose interest in the game and GTA 6 will come sooner than 2020.
