Photos and videos for the 2017 SEAT Ibiza are now circulating, giving the supermini lovers a sneak peek. The fifth generation Ibiza is coming out with a new platform and edgy upgrades on engine and technology features. How will it compete with its rivals Mazda 2, Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Corsa, Skoda Fabia and Volkswagen Polo?

The fifth generation Ibiza boasts of its sleeker design. As popularly known to be the most stylish in the VW Group brands, Ibiza claims to be "fresh and young, and yet, mature and balanced too."

The new Ibiza is also coming out with roomier interiors. The new supermini followed the automaker's design language for its interiors plus an improvement on the old-fashioned version of the previous generation.

The five-door hatch will be available in Petrol and diesel engines. The aluminum 1.0-liter TSI petrol comes with 84bhp. Whereas, the four-cylinder 1.5-liter petrol can power up a 148bhp. However, the latter petrol model will come in late as it is reportedly set to be released later this year, Telegraph reported.

Furthermore, AutoExpress noted that the 2017 SEAT Ibiza is coming out with enlarged features. The new flagship sports a bigger boot. The infotainment screen also appears to be 87mm wider than the previous Ibiza. In addition, the wheelbase comes 95mm longer than the previous too.

The new supermini utilized the MQB platform of the VW Group. This means that the new car used the latest A0 version which deems the new Ibiza to underpin the superminis in the line-up.

The publication also mentioned that there will be four models to comprise the UK line-up that will be launched later in 2017. Car enthusiasts can expect these models: the Ibiza S, SE, FR and Xcellence.

SEAT has not released any official statement on the possible price tags for the four models of the 2017 Ibiza. However, the publication predicts that the new supermini will have a starting cost of about $16,400 (£13,000).
