Apple has finally released the final version of iOS 10.2.1. Unfortunately, the update doesn't fix the one major battery-related problem many iPhone users are experiencing.

The Apple iOS update. Like any other update, the latest final version update fixes and improves on a lot from the previous version. However, the one fix iPhone users were hoping for never with came with it soliciting anger and disappointment.

Users were expecting the update to fix the dreaded "30% battery bug" for older iPhone models. iPhone 6s users were hoping that the update would improve battery life.

Unfortunately, the fix never did come. According to an article by Forbes, the update only made the 30% battery problem worse and that it has not brought in any solutions for it.

The battery bug found in older iPhone models causes the unit to unexpectedly power down when the battery level goes below 30 percent. Techies theorize that this is possibly due to an un-calibrated battery or an old battery that needs replacing.

The Cupertino-based tech giant has offered a battery replacement program but only for iPhone 6s users as a solution to the model's poor battery life. Unfortunately for users with older iPhone models, they will just have to have their batteries replaced with a fee or to wait for a future update that will address the issue given that Apple announced that the bug could be possibly fixed by a software update.

Apple has just released the first beta version of iOS 10.3. However, it is still unclear if it will address the battery problems since it is more focused on new features than bug fixes. If the final build of iOS 10.3 does bring with it the solution to fix battery  issues, users will not get the update for another four to six weeks.
