The new 12-cylinder Bentley Continental Supersports is essentially a rolling superlative. Not only it’s the most powerful Bentley ever, but it’s also the quickest and the fastest Bentley with claiming a zero-to-60mph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 209 mph.

On the heels of the marque’s recently released 626 hp Flying Spur, the new 700 hp sedan features a 10% and 25% boost in its power to weight and torque to weight ratio respectively over the 2009 Supersports predecessor, according to Robb Report’s report. It is a powertrain comprising a 6-liter twin-turbocharged W-12 juggernaut gets from zero to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and cruises to a top speed of 209 mph with smooth sailing ensured by its computer controlled self-leveling air suspension. All that momentum can be managed by carbon ceramic brakes that can stop the 21-inch allow wheels within moments.

The enhancing performance is an improved torque vectoring system that can apply appropriate braking and power to each front and rear wheel when cornering. This car’s sporty spirit is manifested in the exterior detailing as well. Bentley accomplished this by introducing a fresh take on the sculpted front and rear bumpers, side sill extensions, hood vents and a rifled tailpipe.

According to Yahoo, compared with the speed, the Supersports employs larger turbocharger which makes more boost and revised intercoolers while its crankshaft and connecting rod bearing are beefed up. An eight-speed automatic is the only transmission choice using a new torque converter that locks up faster and can withstand the engine’s massive output better.

It is believed that the Bentley Continental Supersports will be the one that puts down the most impressive performance numbers, but a droptop Supersports will also be offered. Its 385-pound weight penalty dulls performance somewhat as Bently claims only 3.7 seconds for the zero to 60 mph run and a mere 205 mph top speed, but te convertible shares visual tweaks and performance modifications with the hardtop.
