Dodge has slowly become known as a car brand that produces powerful muscle cars rather than a performance-oriented one.  There has not been any outstanding addition to its car lineup but Dodge has been providing upgrades to its main models like the Challenger and Charger to be more competitive in the 2017 muscle car market.

The 2017 Dodge Challenger is offering all-wheel drive and V6 engine options in their GT models. The V8 models are fitted with Active Exhaust standard. New infotainment system updates include Apple VarPlay and Auto Smartphone integration. New wheel pattern and illuminated steering wheel are installed in all SRT models. The power car SRT Hellcat receives new badges and the SRT Demon is likely to be added in the lineup towards 2018.

The 2017 Dodge Charger will come in four additional new colors and just like in the Challenger, the new infotainment system is installed, the set of wheels has a new pattern and the steering wheel is illuminated. V8 models have Active exhaust standard and the SRT models have new badges. Blind spot and rear warning software are installed in the SRT 392 model.

The 2017 Dodge Journey has the R/T trim replaced by the new GT. The Crossroad has new Satin Carbon wheels. Two additional color options will be available.

The 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan will have lesser color options with all versions receiving the latest infotainment system and rear view camera. The GT is the now the top trim level and the SE model will be offered at a $1,100 discount.

In the 2017 Dodge Durango, the GT also becomes the top trim for this model with the rear view camera and the complete infotainment system installed in all models. Black Top package and Brass Money package are options to enhance car with black exteriors and 20-inch wheels.

Although the Dodge Viper will be discontinued in 2017, there will be special edition models offered as a farewell treat for this car model. These updates to the Dodge cars make the company more competitive in the muscle car market.
