2017 F1 Australian Grand Prix Changes Rules For Albert Park Venue? Updated Rules Here!

For this year's season, the 2017 Australian Grand Prix rules had been modified for the V8 supercars. Since the competition would be held at Albert Park, the four-race format would be retained by the qualifying system would be in four parts instead of one. The said round would only be 30mins. per session as well.

Updated Rules. There would be four quarters in the race. Each of the four 10-minute segments would distinguish the grid for one of the races and the gaps would be 5mins. long between each. Furthermore, the break would only commence between the Q2 and Q3 sessions with only 15mins. to spare. On top of which, the race would be composed of 13 laps or 30mins. in time length, reported Motor Sport

Previously, the race used to have a 30-minute qualifying session. However, per information gathered from the previous series of the race, the organization saw it best to modify the rules so as to properly determine the appropriate pace and grid for Albert Park - the competition's venue this year.

The Dates. The qualifying rounds would occur on Mar. 23, 2017, from 12:50PM until 5:55PM, on Mar. 24, 2017. The official 2017 Australian Grand Prix races would start by Mar. 24, 2017, from 1:50 PM, to the second race by 5:50 PM. Following which, Race 3 would start by Mar. 25, 2017 at 3:20 PM, while Race 4 would start by Mar. 26, 2017, at 1:05PM.

Other Race Updates. In other news, Auto Sport reported that the mid-corner speeds at the track can now reach 20-50km/h at mid-high-speed turns. Furthermore, the braking points had also been modified to 20-30m with lap times lengthier at 3-4sec. 

The said revisions of the rules for the 2017 Australian Grand Prix were likewise pegged to be related to safety due to its speed barriers. The tracks were likewise installed with tire wall reprofiling.
