Specialty retailer 2nd & Charles' store in Hoover, Alabama has just announced that it is selling the NES Classic. This was posted on its Facebook page earlier today. The retailer buys and sells used books, video games, iPads, EReaders, iPods, Vinyl, DVD's, game consoles.

Two days ago, Nintendo of America honcho Reggie Fils-Aime discussed the media questions about the retro gaming console during the Nintendo Switch Premiere in New York City. He explained why the Japanese gaming giant failed to put enough NES Mini systems into the market.

According to Fils-Aime, there will be more NES Classic available in the U.S. He attributed the console's scarcity issues to the company's failure to anticipate the excess in global demand.

Though it remains unclear where the 2nd & Charles' new stock came from, it is safe to say that this development supports Nintendo's awareness of consumers' demand for the console. Fils-Aime assured the public that the Japanese gaming giant will be able to meet ongoing demand, based on its ongoing supply.

Before the console was released to the market, Nintendo thought that the key consumer would be between 30 and 40 years old, said Fils-Aime However, the company was surprised by the incremental demand for the NES Classic. This demand comes from the non-NES generation who saw the opportunity to have a console with 30-packed games.

Fils-Aime also delved on the long-term popularity of classic Nintendo products, based on the market's response to the NES Classic. He said that the popularity of their classic games is already a known situation. What the company did not realize was that those with Wii or a Wii U still bought the NES Mini. This also explains the incremental demand mentioned earlier.

2nd & Charles is a comic bookstore that has several stores across the U.S. including Colorado, Florida, Delaware, Georgia, Michigan, Texas, and South Carolina. According to its Facebook page, it was established in 2010 and offers customers cash or credit if they trade in their used books, CDs, DVDs, video games, gaming systems, & accessories.
