Two crooks reportedly stole $1.5 million worth of Apple products from JFK Airport this week according to a report from The New York Post.

The thieves pulled off the robbery late Monday night using one of the airport forklifts to lift a large cargo shipment of iPad minis which were being stored in a nearby cargo building.

All things considered, it could have been a lot worse according to the police report.

The thieves stole approximately 3,600 iPad minis which were going to be shipped by a company called Cargo Airport Services according to CNBC but they could have gotten away with a lot more. An airport worker reportedly stopped to question the thieves as they were taking the pallets away. Though the thieves did get away, they didn' t return for the remaining three pallets containing Apple shipments.

Apple and Cargo Airport have not released a statement about the robbery yet.

Police are still looking for the thieves, as they believe the robbery was an inside job.

Investigators have been visiting the airport throughout the week questioning airport workers and checking security cameras according to The New York Post.

The pallets of Apple devices had just arrived from China and they were being shipped across the U.S. The heist took place in the same location as one of the famous robberies in U.S. history according to The Inquisitr.

In 1978, Lufthansa heist took place at the JFK Airport where thieves stole over $5 million in cash and over $900,000 in jewelry. Today the total heist would be worth approximately $21 million and it is considered one of the largest cash robberies in American history. The robbery was documented and recreated in the movie "Goodfellas."
