With Black Friday just a little over a week away Google has also made a point of trying to improve your shopping experience on perhaps the busiest shopping day of the year.
The company has improved their Google Shopper 3.0 app to help users browse for gift ideas, find local sales on streets close by, and research products that you may be looking for but have never heard about.
Google also made buying online easier through the app by offering a 360-degree swivel option on select products so you know the exact appearance for the item you are looking for according to the app's website.
The app will also make shopping easier by allowing you to save products you have researched or that you're looking for while out shopping into a single file. No longer will you have to worry about saving specific web links or forgetting what a certain company said about an item.
If you have a Google product that supports the Shopper app like the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 or Nexus 10 tablet than you also have the capability to download the Google Maps app that has received rave reviews since first being released. The Maps app can help you find any store that you may be looking for in any shopping location.
Time is everything during the holiday season, and the Google Maps app could help prevent you from wasting time trying to find a specific store or mall when you could be already inside the store waiting to purchase some discounted items. The app comes in handy especially if you will be shopping in an unfamiliar location, as it will give you turn by turn directions for not only street locations but store locations.
The Google mapsmade headlines in early October when many users of the newly released iPhone 5 Maps app were having so many issues with the device. Entire buildings, roads and even towns were missing from the app upon release, and even though the company has done its best to improve on those issues, they haven't been able to completely turn the app into a top-selling product yet.
"At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers," said Cook in a letter about the app. "With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment."
Apple CEO Tim Cook even advised the millions who purchased the iPhone 5 and were having trouble with the Maps app to use different map apps for the time being. He cited other apps like MapQuest, Yahoo Maps, and even Google Maps until they are able to fix all the problems people were complaining about.
