Big Ones In Detroit: Ford F-150, GMC Terrain, Volkswagen Atlas And Chevrolet Traverse To Be Presented

Ford F-150, GMC Terrain, Volkswagen Atlas And Chevrolet Traverse are some of the SUVs and pickup trucks that will debut at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show. Here's a rundown of these big ones that are sure to rack up big sales when it comes to dealerships. 

2018 Ford F-150

First on the list is the new Ford-F-150 and will probably be the most popular amongst the big ones to be presented in Detroit. The Ford F-150 is said to be the smartest and most capable in its history and will also launch its first diesel range. The 2018 Ford F-150 will have a 3.0 Turbo Diesel Power Stroke associated with a new transmission automatic 10-speed and that will coexist with the current V6 engines And V8 gasoline.

The 2018 Ford F-150 is already the 13th generation of the car. It will debut the Stop/Start system in all its mechanics, and will include for the first time the collision avoidance system with pedestrian detection, connection 4G LTE Internet, Apple carplay, Android Auto systems, adaptive cruise control and the latest multimedia infotainment system from Ford - the Sync3, according to DigitalTrends

2018 Chevrolet Traverse

Another American giant that will debut at Detroit is the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse. This large SUV that can seat no less than 8 passengers promises a whole new technological system, announcing the MyLink with 7 and 8 inches screens. The safety system includes new LED lights, lane change controls, anti-pedestrian detection system and frontal collision warning.

The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse will be equipped with a 3.0 V6 with automatic transmission 9-speed which promises greater efficiency of up to 10 percent. The sportier RS version comes with only a 2.0 turbo, and all versions also announced an improved Traction Mode Select system which makes the car more effective to run on all types of surfaces.

New GMC Terrain

Another popular SUV that will debut in Detroit is the GMC Terrain, which comes with a lot of renovation including restyling and technological changes. Mechanically, the new GMC Terrain offers three new turbo engines, including 1.6 turbodiesel which is much more efficient and will coexist together with two petrol engines: 1.5 and 2.0 turbo, with a new 9-speed automatic transmission, according to USAToday.

Volkswagen Atlas R-Line

Last but not the least is the Volkswagen Atlas R-Line, a large SUV designed originally for the American market only, but it is possible that in the coming months, it might land in Europe. The standard version is expected to hit the market in Spring 2017, while the R-Line version will do so a few months later.

Besides the obvious new sportier aesthetic additions and extra equipment, the new Volkswagen Atlas R-Line will include two new mechanical options - A four-cylinder TSI turbo petrol with 235 hp and V6 of 3.6 liters and 276 hp power. 4Motion traction is available on this latest V6 engine.
