Barrett-Jackson, The World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions®, will be featuring some of the most collectible Chevrolet Corvettes on the 46th Annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, to be held on Jan. 14-22, 2017 at WestWorld of Scottsdale in Arizona. Among the featured Corvettes is the previously owned and piloted 1963 C2 Corvette Sting Ray by the legendary racer, Marion Lee "Mickey" Thompson.

The 1963 C2 Corvette Sting Ray is a Z06 Big tank Coupe with the RPO Z06 racing option (Lot # 1363). The Z06 package showcased plenty of race-ready equipment, including the larger fuel tank for racing enthusiasts, according to GM Authority.

Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson told Business Wire that when Corvette "rolled off the production line in the early 50s, it ushered a new era in American automotive history." The first Corvettes were design marvel despite the lack of serious horsepower. The Corvette's performance and engineering in 1956 caught up with its design to be one of the most endearing cars in history. Their Scottsdale auction will feature many of those game changing Corvettes, including CERV 1 and Mickey Thompson's '62 Z06, he added.

Also included in the Scottsdale auction list is a 2010 ZR1 (Lot #783.1), Serial #0001. The first production car developed in 2010 at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant, this late-model Corvette features the iconic LS9 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine producing 638 horsepower.

Featured in the Salon Collection of the extremely rare and highly coveted Corvettes include the '60 CERV 1 (Lot #1390), which was developed by Zora Arkus-Duntov as a functional mid-engine, open-wheel, single-seat prototype racing car. Lot #1369 is one of the 116 L88 units produced, has 16,482 original miles and has undergone rotisserie restoration by Corvette Repair's Kevin Mackay.
