The battle between Tesla Model S and Chevrolet Bolt EV is on, according to Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. The tech personality has been changing sides and promoting both. But which one is really the best? Find out here.

Changing Sides

Last September, Wozniak said some explosive statements through his Facebook profile which soon flooded the internet and was even reported here at AutoWorldNews. He said that he was so over Tesla Model S - his daily vehicle after nearly a decade of driving a Toyota Prius - and will change to the Chevrolet Bolt EV as the car seems to solve the problems that he had encountered with the Model S.

Afterwards, he made it clear that they havent actually tried it. In reality, both he and his wife will still have to try the new Chevrolet Bolt EV before they can actually judge if it really fits their needs. And then, just a few weeks ago, Wozniak took his words back and actually sided with the Tesla Model S. In fact, they acquired a second unit of the Model S and according to Woz, the Chevrolet Bolt EVl will be the car that he will continue to use regularly.

Both Winners

Wozniak may seem to be torn between the two electric vehicles. However, the Tesla Model S and the Chevrolet Bolt EV are really incomparable. They are two electric vehicles of high autonomy, but outside the mechanical classification, they do not share too many characteristics. They are leaders in very different segments and are both on Techtimes as best EVs of 2016 - the Model S as a luxury sedan while the Bolt as a compact vehicle.

The Tesla Model S does not have the comfort of everyday use but Wozniak has acknowledged that he acquired the Model S because the power is more capable and it also has a longer range. The Chevrolet Bolt EV on the other hand is perfect for everyday use with its decent power and its new electric range that can now compete with Tesla cars. Obviously, until the arrival of Model 3, the Chevy Bolt will remain the reference in its segment since most of its rivals is not to their degree of autonomy.

This is why Wozniak decided that both EVs are winners, according to AutoEvolution. In a move that put all doubts to rest, Woz confirms his plans for the future with the two EVs he own: the Tesla is going to be the road trip car while the Bolt will become the daily driver.
