The Grand Tour Amazon Breaks Record As The Most Illegally Downloaded Show, Future Doesnt Look Good For Jeremy Clarkson And The Gang

The Grand Tour Amazon is indeed record breaking! But not in a good way, as recent statistics show that it is the most illegally downloaded show. The Grand Tour is still early in its first season but it already dethrones popular TV shows as the most torrented show.

According to CNET, The Grand Tour Amazon has been the most downloaded show online in history, leaving behind other iconic mainstays like "Game of Thrones" or "The Walking Dead." The first episode of The Grand Tour Amazon has been downloaded 7.9 million times, the second episode downloaded 6.4 million and the third, 4.6 million.

13.7 percent of Internet users who have downloaded are of British origin. Because of this, several of the British media agree that Amazon will no longer enter the 4 million euros profit mark which they only achieved during the premiere.

The reason for the high number of downloads is due to the popularity of the show, which is comprised of former Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, as well as the physical inability to see The Grand Tour Amazon in many countries.

In all honesty, the tremendous global popularity of The Grand Tour Amazon would not have been possible without the millions of illegal downloads via torrent and P2P services. But this is not good news. Because unlike TV shows that get profit from commercials as they screen on television, The Grand Tour Amazon relies mostly on their paid online viewers to get profit for the high-budget show.

The future of Clarkson and company does not look too good, according to TheVerge. They recently angered PETA with their animalistic Episode 4 concept (you can watch below) and this recent news of illegal downloading is not helping. The sooner Amazon comes up with a solution, the better .

One way is to make Amazon Video available to more countries by the end of the year as Amazon tries to compete with streaming giants Netflix and HBO. Of course, there will always be those who prefer not to pay the monthly subscription service. But $9 is a small amount compare to all of the action one can get from The Grand Tour Amazon.
