Volkswagen announced on Thursday that they will be reintroducing the Tiguan R-Line to their UK line-up. The vehicles are now on sale and will be distributed this January.

The Tiguan series is Volkswagen's fourth best-selling car all time, and accounted for almost 20 percent of all sales when it was first introduced. One has to wonder why the car wasn't reintroduced sooner.

The sport trim level is based on the Tiguan SE trim level is painted silver, comes with bi-xenon headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels. The front and rear bumpers have been improved as well and look much more modern compared to the previous series. The R Line is available in a choice of eight exterior paint colors.

It will also offer heated power-adjustable front seats, standard rain-sensing windshield wipers, automatic climate control, and an eight-speaker touch-screen stereo with HD Radio.

The R Line will be available with the same engines as the previous Tiguan series, as customers will be able to choose from three of the most powerful engines in the world. These options include the 2.0 liter TSI 4Motion with its 207 bhp and the 2.0 liter common rail TDI diesel with two outputs, 138 bhp and 168 bhp 4Motion.

Costs for the series will vary in the UK as well. The 138bhp diesel will cost over 28,000 pounds, meanwhile the 680 premium and 168 bhp will both cost over 28,440 pounds.

The car has not been doing well in the U.S. however, as sales have not been as good as the company thought they would when they released the car over a year ago. They're not discouraged however since reports show the wait lists for the car in the UK is extremely long. They have been focusing on trying to make the car as popular as possible in the UK by releasing a high costing ad campaign.
