After the presentation of the new 2017 BMW 5 Series which took place last October and the presentation of its M Performance accessories just last week, BMW are now finalizing the last details of the 2017 BMW 5 Series Touring variant as it was spotted testing almost without camouflage and might debut anytime soon.

This one is what Volvo, Audi, and Daimer are afraid of as this version promises to be the most powerful and most luxurious of all.

The spy photos showed that the 2017 BMW 5 Series Touring variant is in its final testing phase and probably a pre - production units. As one can see at AutoEvolution, it already show its final characteristics and definitive elements. Unlike spy photos in the past few months where the car has been seen but with a lot of camouflage and is able to hide a lot of features and look.

The new 2017 BMW 5 Series Touring variant will continue to count with a very steep rear window. One of its hallmarks, like the "Hofmeister kink", the fold last pillar so characteristic of the brand, and hovering under the camouflage.

This pillar also shown, like the previous generation, a quite thin ensemble, allowing a wide glass area. So one can say that this new iteration of the 2017 BMW 5 Series Touring will not present major developments in the aesthetic level.

Both the latter as the new 5 Series Touring, released in this new generation will have the HPLC platform to give life to all models of the brand, from the 3 Series and X3 to the current 7 Series plus future models that can use higher denominations, such as the X7 or 8 Series. The engine range will be identical to the brand new 2017 BMW 5 Series as reported by WhatCar. A range composed of 2.0 and 3.0 liters engine, both gasoline and diesel, with a power range that starts at 252 hp.

The 2017 BMW 5 Series Touring release date remains secret, but one can expect a prompt official appearance, either in January at the Detroit Motor Show or in spring and at the Geneva or New Your Auto Show.
