Jaguar Gives New Bond Film A Boost

Jaguar Land Rover will celebrate a 50-year partnership with the James Bond movie franchise next week at the Paris Motor Show in grand style.

If you are lucky enough to attend this event later this month, you will be able to get a firsthand look at the custom Land Rover Defenders used for the latest installment of the Bond franchise titled Skyfall. The newest movie of the Bond saga will be released in the U.S. in November, over 50 years after the first film Dr. No was released.

Though the movie doesn't come out worldwide until December, we do know already that the opening sequence of the film will feature a field agent named Eve driving a Double Cab Pick Up version of the new Land Rover Defender.

In total Jaguar Land Rover supplied the new Bond film with at least 77 cars. While some of the cars were used simply as production support vehicles, three that you should look out for in the film include different versions of the Defender, the Jaguar XJ and Range Rover.

It has also been reported already that Bond will be seen driving an Aston Martin DB5 but where the car will be seen in the movie and how long it stays intact has not been disclosed. A number of Volkswagen Beetles will also reportedly be used in the film.

Bond is known for many things, maybe none greater than his love for fast and expensive cars. Even if he does just wind up destroying each and every car before the movie is over, Bond loves his cars. It has been awhile since a Jaguar has been featured in a Bond movie though, but along with his sudden desire for beer instead of his classic choice of a martini, look for Jaguar to make a lot of noise in Skyfall this November.
