It wasn't long before "The Metal Gear" became one of the most influential and beloved video game franchises of all time. Consequently, the development of "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" --- an open world action-adventure stealth video game by Kojima Productions and published by Konami for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One --- has also been successful.

Earlier this year, the video game art book ---- "The Art of Metal Gear Solid V" ---- was proudly announced by Dark Horse. Featuring hundreds of pieces of never-before-seen art, the newly assembled volume is now set to become an essential addition to any gamer's collection.

The art book features 224 pages of art and designs from "Ground Zeroes" and "The Phantom Pain", as well as hundreds of never-before-seen art pieces. A total of 400 Limited Edition versions of the book will also be available soon, packaged in a tactical slipcase --- featuring an exclusive fine art print by superstar illustrator Ashley Wood, as detailed on the comic book publisher's website.

What's more, the book features unused designs for unfortunate young cryptozoology enthusiast Ricardo Valenciano Libre from the latter game --- something that has caught the attention of Japanese bloggers.

As fans may know, only the Japanese Special Edition and Premium Package for "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" will come with an art book, unlike the Collector's Edition for the western markets. However, it looks like Kojima Productions is planning to release a full size art book in the west as well.

On Twitter, the senior producer at Kojima Productions Kenichiro Imaizumi, responded to a fan asking for the art book in the collector's edition.

He said, "Sorry, no plan. It will cost more. However, we're working on the art book project with our other partner in the western market. Stay tuned." He also added, "Japanese one is a small art book, about the same size as the DVD case. I am talking about a real art book for licensing product."

"The Art of Metal Gear Solid V" became available in November 2, 2016 - selling at over three million copies in the first week of its release.
