2017 Jaguar XF Sportbrake Wagon Coming To The US

The highly-acclaimed Jaguar XF Sportsbrake will spawn a new version set for production on 2017. This was confirmed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show as Jaguar revealed the photo showing what it will look like. Although still camouflage, the new XF Sportbrake will definitely have a large trunk and is said to have a more efficient engine.

Definitely Not The End

The announcement of the Jaguar XF Sportsbrake is good news for all wagon lovers of the Jaguar brand. Design director Ian Callum had been previously reported saying that Jaguar will not make wagon cars anymore. It turns out that this is a mistake and he was just misquoted.

“I was asked if we’d ever build an XE wagon – and we won’t. But for XF, that would be a very pretty car.” said Callum

Well, if there was still any doubt, Jaguar has been responsible for sending them to the stake with the publication of a photo of the 2017 Jaguar XF Sportbrake in a camouflage. Taking the base of the Jaguar XF 2016, the 2017 could adopt a more stylized image with the clear intention to stand up to vehicles like the Volvo V90 and Audi RS.

“There are going to be more additions to the Jaguar family in 2017 and I can confirm that one of these will be the new XF Sportbrake,” confirmed Andy Goss, Sales Operations Director of Jaguar.

Presenting The New Jaguar XF Sportsbrake

The new Jaguar XF Sportbrake may therefore have a coupe profile with a roof fall much steeper in its defense than its predecessor, a formula already used by models like the Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake but perhaps not that extreme. And with these changes, they could also take the opportunity to modify their rear lights to round out the set.

As for engines, it is expected that the 2017 XF Sportbrake would equip the same propellants that the sedan version has. This means that it would also retain its aluminum platform and engine range but will feature the new Ingenium Group thrusters of the Jaguar Land Rover: Especially interesting is the new 2.0-liter supercharged with over 300 hp. Diesel options in four and six cylinders are also expected.

It is also said that Jaguar's division of high performance, SVR , are already working at full capacity in the development of a radical variant, with which stand up to models such as the Audi RS6 Avant, the undisputed leader when it comes to fast family vehicles. Expect the XF Sportbrake to be slightly more expensive than the saloon, which costs from $35,000.
