After Nissan unveils the updated 2016 Nissan GT-R this year and seeing the GT-R Nismo on Goodwill, Nissan now presents the new Track edition. The new Nissan GT-R Track Edition was engineered by the NISMO racing division to have a few more horsepower and added stability. All these and more for the price of about $134,000.

The Middle Child

Does the Nissan GT-R Nismo seem too radical and expensive? While the regular Nissan GT-R got the perfect look and behavior, sometimes it seems like a Grand Tourism docile. The new Nissan GT-R Track edition is the solution to this. Its got the perfect blend between the regular GT-R and the Nismo. Some dubbed it as a "GT-R Nismo Light" while others call it as a "hot performing GT-R"

Awesome Upgrades

For starters, forget the 20-inch wheels of the Nissan GT-R Premium, or Black Edition Prestige finish. They have been replaced by light alloy wheels, which are built specifically for the Nissan GT-R NISMO and then wrapped in high performance tires.

To improve the car's behavior, NISMO has installed a suspension called Bilstein Damptronic with a specific tuning for the Nissan GT-R. This suspension allows for better straight-line stability and greater cornering. They claim that its hardness and control are close to the competition supercars.

The anti-roll bars are also new with the Nissan GT-R track edition. They are lighter to reduce the overall weight of the car and also to further increase chassis rigidity and stability.

Inside there's Recaro sports seats and a Track Edition badge on the dashboard. There's an option to have the seat backs in carbon as well and the infotainment system boast an 8inch touchscreen complete with an 11-speaker sound system.

Why Fix If It's Not Broken

The car retains the same engine of the newest Nissan GT-R as this has already been tested and it is proven that the crowd loves it. It uses a VR38DETT, twin turbo 3.8 V6 but outputs a 570 hp and 637 Nm of torque, 565hp and 633 Nm for the original Nissan Gt-R, associated with a direct-shift gearbox six relations.

The price of the Nissan GT-R Track Edition start at 118,900 euros or approximately $134,000. Deliveries will begin in November, but will unfortunately be hard to get in the US. Nissan tells New Atlas that the GT-R Track Edition release will focus on Germany, France and the UK, but that the car will be available to suitors elsewhere, too.
