Recently, Elon Musk and his group at Tesla claims that the Tesla Model S is the fastest car in the world. With the Model S deliveries now underway, several videos show that the Model S is truly a speed demon. However, the true test of speed can only be seen through a battle.

So the crew at DragTimes sets a drag race to find out if Tesla Model S is truly a beast in the road pitting it on one of the best sportscar nowadays, the Lamborghini Huracan. Who will win this ultimate test? Find out by watching the video below.

The Main Opponents

The Lamborghini Huracan is the successor to the legendary Gallardo. Among its virtues is its low weight, thanks to an aluminum chassis gives the whole 1,422 kilos on the scale. Mechanically, the new engine V10 5.2 liter offers a maximum power of 610 hp and maximum torque of 560 Nm. It accelerates from zero to 100 in 3.2 seconds, from zero to 200 in 9.9 and reaches a top speed of 325 km / h with a price tag of $278,000.

On the other hand, the Tesla Model S P100D, a luxury sedan with an acceleration from zero to 100 km / h in less than three seconds, claims to be the fastest car in the world with 762 horsepower with a price tag of $148,000 as shown. And with a battery of 100 kWh, the Tesla Model S is the best in the electric vehicle world. To give an idea of the power of the new super battery of Tesla, the new battery has about four times more capacity than some current electric cars like the Renault ZOE and three times more than the last Nissan Leaf offers presented.

So who wins? Does the Tesla take the Huracan? Watch the video of the race now.

The Results Are In

As seen in the video, the Model S gets an early lead and maintains it for at least a good 10 seconds before the Lamborghini Huracan catch up. And although the race shows that the Huracan won by mere seconds, it is still amazing to see an electric vehicle battled it out against a legit supercar. A few years ago, it would have sounded crazy to see an EV vs a supercar in a drag race. But the Tesla Model S made this possible. Tesla’s top of the line Model S is an absolute beast
