Michael Schumacher, legendary seven-time Formula One World Champion was met with an unfortunate skiing accident in 2013. Is it really true that the 47-year-old can walk again as was claimed by the German magazine Bunte?

Truth About Schumacher's Health Revealed

As much as the good news would have been a welcome twist to the recent events in Schumacher's life, it is far from the truth. His family and lawyer denied the claims vehemently, and will take the matter to the court according to Mirror.

According to the magazine, an unnamed source who claims to be a friend of the German racer said, "Michael is very thin. But he can once again walk a little with the help of his therapists."

His lawyer Felix Damm said bluntly, "He cannot walk," he reportedly can't stand even with the assistance of therapists. Schumacher's camp believes that the magazine's publication was a ploy to get them to tell more about the motor sports icon's condition.

'Irresponsible' Claims Bashed By Family

They filed suit against the magazine for violating Schumacher's right to privacy. Sabine Kehm, Schumacher's manager, said in December that she had hope for the racer, but she labeled Bunte's report as "irresponsible" since none of their claims were true.

"Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important for Michael," Kehm said.

"Unfortunately they also give false hopes to many involved people."

The accident which took Schumacher's ability to walk happened in Mirabel ski resort on December 29, 2013. He was on a holiday with Corinna, his wife, and two children when he hit his head on rocks.

The racer was in a coma for six months, and it wasn't until September 2014 when he was brought back to his home in Germany. Schumacher is currently being taken care of by his family and full-time staff in his Lake Geneva home.

The case's verdict is expected after October.
