Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban Gets Midnight Edition, Features Perfect "Murdered-out" Look

A midnight edition of the Chevy Tahoe and the Chevy Suburban was introduced by General Motors this week. Both will join other midnight editions of the Chevy brands such as the Silverado and the Cadillac Escalade, which is doing well in sales with their perfect, now-iconic "murdered out" look.

According to Chevrolet, their Midnight Edition line is among its fastest-selling line of the firm's vehicles. And with Chevy Tahoe sales already up by 18 percent and the Suburban up by 30, the duo is expected to increase more sales with their midnight edition, and can cover approximately half of the full-size SUV market sales in the US by the end of the year.

"Our SUV customers have shown a considerable appetite for specialty vehicles, and that we will bring to them," Mike Weidman, Chevrolet Advertising Manager, said.

The LT Version

The Chevy Tahoe and the Chevy Suburban will both be offered in two dark packages which are both finished in a black exterior hue. Under the hood, it will come with a potent 5.3-liter V-8 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and either two or four-wheel drive.

The first package is the LT Midnight that gives the Tahoe and Suburban 20-inch black wheels as well as an elegant looking roof rack cross rails, improved assist steps and the usual bowtie logos. This is most suitable for those looking for large and comfortable people hauler. Estimated sale price of this midnight edition will be at $50,000.

The Z71 Version

The second package is the Z71 Midnight which will give the same enhancements but with more power. It will come with 18-inch black painted wheels with a dark grille insert and is a more off-road-oriented machine for people who loves adventure. Off-road tuned suspension are added as well as skid plates, tubular assist steps, tow hooks, and a 3.42 axle that goes perfectly with a 2-speed transfer case.

Pricing is still not available but based on the added functions for the Z71, the new Chevy Tahoe will add at least $2000 so expect the price to be around $52000 to $55000.

All new midnight edition versions of the Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban is expected to go on sale before the year ends.
