2017 Nissan GT-R Review: Why It's Perfect Inside But Disappointing Outside

Nissan's chief product specialist Hiroshi Tamura successfully achieved their goal for the 2017 Nissan GT-R which is extra horsepower, improved performance and comfort in driving. However, car enthusiasts are saying that Nissan may have forgotten to work on the outside since only a few improvements to the car's exterior had been made.

A Disappointing Exterior Not Worthy of The Price Tag

At first glance, no one can really tell that the 2017 Nissan GT-R costs $115000. Critics state that it looks somewhat cheap with its newly renovated front, the arrangement of the LED daytime running lights inside the headlights and grill adopting a 'V-Motion' form. The diffuser is also now larger making it seems less like a sports car. Although aerodynamics was taken into account in the form of a new hood, side skirts and rear spoiler, the updates of the car's look have left many fans disappointed.

Interior Redemption

Even with a disappointing exterior, avid fans of the esteemed GT-R line would know that the new 2017 Nissan GT-R is a gem. Going inside, we can see a great redesign of the interior including a new multimedia 8-inch touch screen. The number of buttons on the center console have been reduced as well. For its part, the dashboard was reoriented towards the driver and the steering wheel also has a new look that truly looks impressive.

The quality of seats is also impressive, with materials such as hand-stitched leather seats and Alcantara while the Special Black Edition has Recaro leather seats.

The Hidden Gem is in the Engine

As for the engine, the Nissan GT-R 2017 is equipped with a twin-turbo V6 3.8 liter 24-valve, which increases its power to 570 hp at 6,800 rpm and 637 Nm of maximum torque. This increase, according to Nissan, has been possible thanks to a better control of ignition timing of the cylinders and the blowing force of the turbos. The transmission charge that managed all this force is a dual-clutch automatic gearbox six relations.

Finally, the sound of its engine has been toned so that a symphonic melody can be heard through new silencers made of titanium and Active Sound Enhancement system.

Yes, the Nissan GT-R 2017 may not have the luxury look of others like Porsche or Ferrari, but its agility when driving, now with more power, traction to all four wheels and the dual-clutch 6-speed is simply stunning. It is still the best sports car for many of its dedicated fans.
