There is no question that Porsche 918 Spyder is one of the fastest cars of today. The question if how fast? TV show "Das Motormagazin-Grip" has organized a peculiar race for us to find out how fast as the Porsche 918 Spyder faces a plane in the competition. Not just any ordinary plane. The spyder needs to face a Zivko Edge 540 V3, an aircraft designed for aerial acrobatics.

Does the 918 have what it takes to win? Find out below.

Porsche 918 Spyder Top Speed

The Porsche 918 Spyder has to defend its honor by putting its top speed. The German supercar is the fastest model that the Porsche brand has to offer, which makes it a car that many dream of. It's fast, compelling and highly technological.

Its construction leaves no detail to chance, hiding under its skin a hybrid system capable of developing 887 horsepower. In each axis of this supercar, an electric motor, complete with a mechanical 4.6-liter gasoline V8 with 608 horsepower set is installed. Thanks to this energy and its torque of 1,280 Nm, the Porsche 918 Spyder can accelerate from 0-100 km / h in just 2.6 seconds, a figure that few can not even reach.

Thanks to these specs, Porsche already sold 920 units of the 918 Spyder.

Still, do you think the Porsche 918 Spyder would be able to beat a plane in a race?

Let The Race Begin

TV show "Das Motormagazin-Grip" has organized the race between a Porsche 918 Spyder and the Zivko Edge 540 V3. Matthias Malmedie was assigned to be the driver of the German supercar and the arena would be the Zweibrücken in Germany.

It is not the first time we see a similar race as the famous old "Top Gear" program Jezza, Captain Slow and The Hamster conducted a similar test.
