Eighteen-year-old Red Bull F1 racer Max Verstappen angered Kimi Raikkonen for dangerous racing techniques that are susceptible to accidents. Ferrari driver thinks that if Verstappen does not change his ways in driving, an accident will surely happen in the future, especially after Verstappen's stunt at the Belgian Grand Prix last weekend.

Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen, clashed with Ferrari driver, Kimi Raikkonen at Spa during the Belgian Grand Prix following their encounter at the La Source hairpin during the first lap. Because of Verstappen's swift shifts, both drivers sustained vehicle damages along with Sebastian Vettel, reported Auto Sport.

Moreover, the drivers clash at Les Combes once again along the Kemmel Straight the lap after. The said encounter during the Belgian Grand Prix left Raikkonen furious. According to him, Verstappen's technique which was to drive in the middle of the track and swiftly shift to defensive stand only at the last moment is susceptible to accidents. Such tactic was said to be done only after the driver is able to foresee where the attacking driver will enter. Such move, according to Verstappen, could lead to future accidents, reported BBC.

Raikkonen added that if he had not braked, a terrible accident would have happened. The driver added that in order for the audience to truly know the gravity of danger Verstappen had placed them both, an accident may be the best example to show its effects. However, the driver did say he was hoping that such incident would not happen to minimize the incidents where people might get hurt. He also manifested that if Verstappen would not change his tactics in driving like how he did during the Belgian Grand Prix, accidents will most likely happen.

According to Toto Wolff, the Mercedes motorsport boss, Verstappen's take on the Belgian Grand Prix race may be likened to the greats, a different take than the heated Raikkonen. Wolff said that the young driver reminded him of Lewis Hamilton and Ayrton Senna, two drivers of the game that were refreshing and risk-takers.
