American Airlines And Uber Team Up To Provide Rides From Airports

American Airlines and Uber are now working together to give passengers an option for a ride home from the airport.

The "door-to-door" service will be aimed at fliers who can't afford to take the airport shuttle, and users would get a reminder from Uber for a pickup once they buy their tickets, Engadget reported.

American's mobile app will also guide users to the closest Uber pickup location, according to The Fort Worth Star Telegram. The service will be provided at 11 airports across the U.S., which include Chicago O'Hare, Dallas Fort Worth and LAX.

"We're excited to partner with the only global ride sharing service to offer customers exactly what they're asking for- a seamless travel experience, whether they're in the sky or on the ground," said Scott Hinshaw, American's director for partner marketing.

The date for when American and Uber plan to release the service has yet to be revealed.
