Hawaii is the top destination for electric vehicles in the nation.

According to a local newspaper, charging stations are being installed for 5,500 residents in Hawaii. Because of its infrastructure, Hawaii is the top choice to sell electric cars. The sales record of electric cars in Hawaii is reported to be 10 times that of the rest of the states in United States.

"To encourage more number of electric vehicles in Hawaii, the local government has initiated lots of plans and programs for the convenience of electric car buyers. The local government has been supportive in terms of providing an adequate platform for the car buyers to show their interest. The local government has been very adamant in giving more importance to nature and protect the biodiversity in Hawaii," said the local media on the functioning of the local government.

The Utility Hawaiian Company has been in electric vehicle friendly service for more than a decade, giving lot of free services for the electric car users.

"The local Utility Hawaiian Company gives discounted recharging battery option at night. Since there is no much of activity at night, electric vehicle drivers are benefiting out of this new service. And in a recent move, there's a tax reduction for people who own electric vehicles. Since any electric vehicle runs 25 mph per gallon , then getting a discount at night seems to be a feasible idea for electric car owners," adds the local tabloid.

Hawaii's small landscape makes driving electric cars an ideal choice. Car makers also added that the electric charging is good during warm weather.
