Michael Vetter's custom garage, The Car Factory, based in Micco, Fla., creates extraterrestrial-looking automobiles. He uses "donor cars" from paying customers and makes multiple alterations to the body and frame of the car, according to The Daily Mail. Vetter builds a new frame using steel tubular metal and then installs the frame inside his custom-made fiberglass body. The ETV, or as Vetter calls them, extraterrestrial vehicles, need all new glass, which is a "very expensive endeavor," Vetter said, according to The Daily Mail.
All of his creations are street legal and can reach speeds of 100 mph with a horsepower ranging from 95bhp to 300bhp. Vetter has used just about every car model and make, including a Porsche Boxster and Toyota Prius. His cars have sold anywhere from $75,000 to $250,000, according to Auto Blog.
Inspired by the birth of his daughter, he began building the cars in 1998.
"My wife Shannon and I had our baby girl. We had driven and owned many two-seater sports cars as this is what we do for fun and work," he said in a statement to the Irish Mirror. "Once we had our little girl we could no longer drive a two-seater and be together. At this point I started drawing up sports cars with a back seat for the baby seat."
