The 2016 Hyundai Tucson SUV will be officially unveiled at the Geneva auto show in Switzerland March 3, a month before its U.S. debut at the New York Auto Show.

Here's what we know so far:

What is it?

Hyundai will launch two- and four-wheel 2-liter options of the Tucson and a downsized 1.7-liter option as well. The downsized Tucson is aimed at customers in their 20s to 40s and will compete with Renault Samsung's popular QM3 as well as the Ford Escape and Honda CR-V.

What's new or changed?

New convenience features offered include heated and ventilated front seats, longer seating cushions for enhanced support and a Smart Parking Assist System (SPAS) with parallel and bay parking function.

Hyundai isn't talking about the US version of the five-seat compact SUV yet, but 1.6L and 2.4L gasoline engines and a six-speed automatic seem like a safe bet.

In Europe though, all engines have been enhanced in order to improve drivability and fuel efficiency and meet Euro6 emission standards.

Options include: 135 PS (1.6-litre GDI) or 176 PS (1.6-litre T-GDI) - plus three diesel options: 115 PS (1.7-litre), 136 PS (2.0-litre standard power) or 184 PS (2.0-litre high power).

The new turbocharged 1.6-litre T-GDI engine with 176 PS with the new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT) or a six-speed manual.

Can I buy it yet?

Once it makes its public debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the All-New Tucson will go on sale in Europe during the second half of 2015.
