Kia unveiled the official sketches of the company’s first rear-wheel luxury sedan, codenamed KH, hoping to set a new standard in the large sedan market with its “distinctive, modern, and classic” design concept.
“Our all-new flagship sedan integrates all of our key capabilities such as design, performance, high-tech features and infotainment into one striking model,” said the Director of the Overseas marketing Group of Kia, Soon-Nam Lee.

“[T]his all-new rear-wheel drive large sedan will definitely become the leading model of our line-up around the world, showcasing the best of the best of Kia.”
The new design is to be expressed through “sophisticated, technically-advanced elements” in addition to the company’s existing identity. According to the new sketches, KH has the same grille design that runs on other models of Kia and a single character line that goes on the side. Kia said that side line is to “give a feeling of spaciousness while emphasizing the new model’s bold and dynamic image.”
Although the automaker did not release additional information about the technical aspect of the new model, analysts are suggesting it would be similar to that of Genesis or Equus from Hyundai, Kia’s corporate cousin.
KH is expected to be available in Korean market in the first half of 2012, while overseas sale has not been announced.
