2014 Los Angeles Auto Show: The Lexus LF-C2 Concept Is A Roofless Wonder (UPDATED)

Nov 20, 2014 10:00 AM EST | Jeff Jablansky

Sunny southern California was the backdrop for the launch of a stunning, roofless concept this week, as Lexus unveiled the LF-C2 design study at the Los Angeles auto show.

What is it?

To our eyes, the LF-C2 looks a lot like a convertible variant of the recently released RC-F coupe, and that's not a bad thing: Sharp lines and creases dominate the front, rear, and side in a way that the softer, ovoid SC430 convertible never had. It's a concept for now, but if previous LF-C models are any indication, there's a serious chance for a production version of this car.

What's new or changed?

The LF-C2 is a brand-new concept car that debuted in Los Angeles. If it sees production, it will likely keep the exterior styling but Lexus might leave out many of the bespoke elements of its interior.

Can I buy it?

Not yet. Stay tuned to see if Lexus brings this concept car to reality.
