2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro: Aggressive Looking But Docile As A Lamb?

The 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is one capable midsize pickup. It has been making waves because of its performance. Off-roading enthusiasts are satisfied but just like anything else, it is not ultimately perfect.

The 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro does look great. It looks aggressive and it screams power. Its body represents the power that it can deliver. It looks agile and able, ready to achieve impressive off-roading performance. In spite of its looks, it is actually easy to drive and park.

This, however, may not be too appealing to the practical buyers. For one, the Tacoma TRD Pro does not come in cheap. It is expensive for a pickup that comes in not so complete package. Some industry experts think that looks may be deceiving. It can look aggressive but its power may be as docile as a lamb.

Is this really the case? It depends on who is assessing. Its four-wheel drive and powerful V-8 engine cost about $46,600 in the new SR5 trim. It gets more expensive if one opts to have the TRD Pro off-road package setting one back $50,600.

The Tacoma TRD Pro is capable of producing 278-horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. It is also a serious hauling machine for having a towing capacity of 6,400-pounds. Though powerful, industry experts wish for the Tacoma TRD Pro to come more powerful, delivering more torque and horsepower.

The Toyota Tacoma has been considered as America's best-selling mid-size pickup and it has held this title for such a good time. It is versatile, rugged and durable. The TRD Pro is based on Tacoma TRD Off-road 4x4 Double Cab short-bed model.

The 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is reviewed for not being a comfortable commuter truck. Most of its surfaces are made of hard plastic or vinyl. Seating is awkward as well. Yes, this midsize pickup is highly capable, no doubt. However, its steep price tag, underwhelming power, and uncomfortable interior can use a little bit more updating.
